Not so sure about warriors.
Well i have been playing guild wars for around 2 months now and i currently have a warrior/monk Lvl 20. Now when ever i go into PVP Random arenas with him he does not do so good neither do alot of the warriors i see fighting. It appears that all the professions apart from warrior do a heck of alot better. I noticed that for example assassins do well because of there speed, Elementalists because of there powerful magic, Necros Because of there magic and hexes, Dervish beacause of there powerful attacks combined with magic and so on... So what exactly do warriors have that allow them to stand a chance of being at the the top flight like most other professions?. Now im aware they have a bit more armor and health than others but this doesn't really make much diff when fighting the likes of an assassin or a dervish etc...surely this cant be the only thing warriors have against all other professions. What else do they have that could possibly allow them to stand out amongst the other professions and win a little more.
Any Help Would Be really appreciated Thanks. Last edited by Pure Trex; Nov 10, 2007 at 02:44 PM // 14:44.. |

If used properly, their conditions are deadly. Not so much as an assassin, mesmer or necromancer, but each class can be used to kill if used properly.

Warriors are for pressure. RA is not a good place to judge warriors by, because 99% of them (reading your post this includes you, no offense) are playing them wrong. W/Mo isn't a good combination for PvP to begin with.

Don't use superior runes, Healing Breeze is aweful, Endure Pain is aweful, don't use Power Attack, you need a res. Battle Rage is decent but it forces you to forfeit your self heal unless you want to recast it which is very annoying without an adrenal gain skill like Enraging Charge.

Start by listing which GW chapters you have.

I assume he only has proph judging by the skills he posted.
Sword warriors are pretty limited when it comes to elites in Prohecies, I'd recommend an axe build with Evicerate if you wanted to pvp. Warrior builds should generally look something like this: [skill]Crippling Slash[/skill][skill]Gash[/skill][skill]Sun and Moon Slash[/skill][skill]Bull's Strike[/skill][skill]Conjure Flame[/skill][skill]Frenzy[/skill][skill]Rush[/skill][skill]resurrection Signet[/skill] At least 3 attack skills, an IAS, a cancel stance if you choose to take frenzy, and as you're in RA, a res sig. The other 2 slots are up to you. EDIT: You'll proberbly want to take Healing Signet too if you're in RA. You cant always count on the monk there. (if there even is one) EDIT 2: Forgot the attributes Weapon mastery : 12 + 1 + 1 ( or 2) Tactics: with healing sig, at least 9 Strength: Dump the rest here Last edited by milkflopance; Nov 11, 2007 at 10:04 AM // 10:04.. |

A heal is great in RA, but not brezze, try heal sig or lions comfort.
Yea, power attack isnt very good, but utility like savage slash is great in RA. As for warriors in RA, they have trouble because they are the easiest to counter, there isnt really a way for them to cope with a hex necro or such without their monk so the've got a ton of hexes on em and either attack themselves to death or becaome usless not attacking, dervishes have some good defences against this and sins can generally kill or shutdown before the hexes get cast. |

Moving to warrior section as this is more and more becoming a discussion about how his build should be improved

Go Axe or Hammer Prophecies-only, basically.
The elites available to you aren't all too great as just a Swordsman (ok, maybe Charge! or Bull's...) Oh, and lose the Healing Prayers crap and Endure Pain, and take a Resurrection Signet. As for what Axe mods to use... Vamp/Sundering on main, Zealous on switch for regaining energy to Frenzy some more, and an Elemental axe for dealing with Warriors. The vamp/sundering debate's a long one with no clear winner on Axes; basically vamp offers better pressure and sundering has a higher spike potential. and 15^50 with +30 health is a given for the other 2 mods. As for a build? 12+1+1 Axe 10+1 Tactics 8+1 Strength [skill]eviscerate[/skill][skill]executioner's strike[/skill][skill]shock[/skill][skill]bull's strike[/skill][skill]healing signet[/skill][skill]frenzy[/skill][skill]rush[/skill][skill]resurrection signet[/skill] ... and just hope there's a monk to keep you clean, basically. It's how warriors work. Last edited by Stormlord Alex; Nov 10, 2007 at 06:49 PM // 18:49.. |

And sundering is bad on swords, tbh - it's bearable on Axes because of a much higher damage potential. For Factions... you get Dragon Slash. Owns PvE, not so great in PvP where you can't count on it hitting enough. I'd still stick to the Shockaxe. |
